A new hand-held joins the BlackBerry family, but we'll withhold the oohs and ahs despite the "Bold" name. The phone appears to be a good step forward—and not much more.
The Bold essentially soups up earlier BlackBerry models, adding a higher-resolution screen that has some reviewers singing its praises. And Kevin Micaluk at CrackBerry.com has a gushing review of the phone's look and feel, having scored one off eBay. The phone doesn't officially go on sale until this summer.
Samsung F490 Review

It's slim and sleek, the front fascia is notable for its large screen
and there are very few buttons. No, it's not the iPhone; it's Samsung's
latest handset, the F490.
The F490 is a stylish touch-screen
device with only volume buttons on the left side, and a shortcut key, a
camera key and slide control on the right side.
At 12mm thick,
it's much slimmer than the recent Samsung F700 with its slide-out,
QWERTY keypad. It's also noticeably faster and more responsive than the
earlier model, but the lack of a keypad means that the focus is on that
magic touch-screen.
Once you take a good look at the Samsung Ace SPH-i325 PDA Phone, you
will definitely love it. The fact that it looks a lot like the Samsung
BlackJack II isn’t even the reason why. Yes, it some of its features
are the same, and its looks are similar, but the Ace has something that
makes it even better than the Blackjack. The phone sports a sleek,
slightly square black body with a full QWERTY keyboard, but unlike the
Blackjack, the Ace supports Sprint’s CDMA network.
The January-March 2008 quarter witnessed some shakeups in the rankings of the Indian Mobile phone vendors.Whilst Nokia continues to demonstrate its market leadership by a wide margin, seconded by Sony Ericsson. The third spot has shown some changes with Samsung surpassing Motorola to capture the number 3 spot in the Indian mobile market.

The price cut has been so profitable to O2, the official distributor of the iPhone in UK, and Apple, that the iPhone is no longer available in the region. It is not due to any legal dispute. But, the sales have grown so much that both, the 8GB as well as the 16GB models, have gone out of stock.
